Since moving to Richmond, I have been dying to shoot at some of the most gorgeous venues I’ve ever seen, specifically Estate at River Run. Within a week of unpacking, I contacted the Estate and quickly put together a little shoot celebrating the love of Courtney and Dennis all while capturing it on film.
The Estate
“High on a bluff towering over the James River, this exquisite Georgian Revival offers 16,000 square feet of opulence, built by Taylor and Parrish Construction from 1981-1987. This stately Georgian features an upper brick promenade surrounded by a limestone balustrade and opens to a double curved staircase to the lower terrace. The mansion’s interior boasts extravagant architectural embellishment. Marble floors, ornamental cornices, plaster friezes, 18-foot columns with gilded Corinthian capitals, and custom crystal chandeliers please the eye from the onset. A Jeffersonian pool house with a hexagonal raised dome presides over a circular pool with bluestone terraces and a limestone balustrade. Nearby, you will discover a tennis court complete with a covered viewing stand.”

The Details
There are so many creatives that live in Richmond! So, it was super easy to find an amazing florist to help bring my little vision to life. Photosynthesis Floral Designs created the simply stunning bouquet and hair piece made of orchids and figs. The bouquet was perhaps my favorite bouquet to date. Sometimes going simple and elegant is the best way!

This session is definitely one of my favorites and I hope to shoot here again for a wedding! Someone please get married here and have me as your photographer 🙂
