Kennedy and Justin met at Mount St. Mary’s in a small education program. Over the years, they had many classes together and worked well with each other. Justin says that he remembers always wanting to sit next to Kennedy in class so he could work with her, and he would get very frustrated with himself if he was late and someone else was in “his seat.” Kennedy says she was generally oblivious that he liked her, but after several months and a lot of prompting from her sisters, she and Justin went on a date, and the two quickly became inseparable.
In December, they both took a day off from school, and Kennedy went shopping with her sister, who kept prompting her to buy a new dress and get her nails done. While Kennedy initially grew suspicious, her sister did a good job of throwing her off the scent. When she got home, Kennedy got ready for what she thought was just a nice dinner prepared by Justin, but instead found rose petals leading to the living room and Justin standing beside their Christmas tree. He promised to love her always and forever and asked her to marry him with a ring that he had selected from their family jeweler with the help of her sister. Kennedy happily said yes, and the two began planning their dream wedding!
Kennedy says “I knew I wanted to marry Justin because of the way he cared for me. When we first started dating, my family was going through a tough time, but he always was available for me and also for Peyton. If ever we needed anything, he was each of our first calls. That first summer we were together was the hardest time we faced so far, but his commitment and care was unwavering. When I ask him about that time, he acts very nonchalant about it. I don’t think he realizes how I came to trust him in that time.”
When it came time for the wedding, a few things were very important to the couple. Without even discussing it, they both knew they wanted to be married at The Mount. It was the place they first met and the place that their friendship and eventual romance grew, and they couldn’t think of any other place to take that next step of their relationship. Additionally, it was very important to Kennedy that her family be included, because they wanted to honor their family members’ influence in their lives.
Kennedy and Justin planned a classic and romantic fall wedding in October. The ceremony was held at Mount St. Mary’s, and afterward they held their reception at The Carriage House Inn. The couple opted for soft romantic shades of pink and blush, with navy blue suits for the guys. Every little detail was so beautiful! I was so honored to be chosen to capture their perfect day! I hope you enjoy my favorite images from their wedding day!
