Madison + Sean

Gulf Coast Engagement Session

I have known Madison + Sean for almost 5 years now and it has been a blessing to see their love grow and flourish. It is an even bigger honor to be able to not only document their engagement session but also their wedding day at our alma mater and the gorgeous Stone Manor Country Club in Maryland in 2022. Madison and Sean brought their joy-filled love to the sandy beaches for a gorgeous engagement session on the Gulf Coast!

Now Madison and Sean are sharing their answers to some of my favorite questions to ask brides and grooms!

How Did You Meet?

Sean and I met on a pre-orientation retreat before our freshman year of college called “Encounter” put on by the Center for Campus Ministry at the Mount—which Alex was a small group leader for, I might add. We were the first people each other met, specifically on Echo field during an icebreaker at the beginning of the retreat. Shorty after we became best friends and were practically inseparable.

How Did He Pop the Question?

Sean proposed by taking me down memory lane through all of our firsts. He took me back to Echo field in the exact spot we met and asked me to marry him!! Afterwards he took me to dinner at La Bella Italia, where we went for our first date. Then of course followed by Mr. G’s ice cream where we closed out our first date, and also went on many “friend dates.”

Any advice for future brides?

I think something that is super important for future brides to keep in mind is focusing on the present. Of course planning for the big day is SO much fun, but it can be so easy to get wrapped up in all of the minor details. Your wedding day is simply meant to celebrate your marriage and the love you and your fiancé share, so allow it to be fun and don’t sweat the small things. The truth is, you and your fiancé only get to live in this season of engagement once—be present and enjoy it!

What details in the wedding were really important to you?

The details that were super important to me for Sean and I’s wedding were choosing the right photographer and videographer. I recognized that after the day is gone, so are your cake, flowers, makeup, and everything in between. However, your pictures and videos from the day will last you a lifetime. It was super important to me to find a photographer and videographer who would make it their goal to capture all of the joy and love being shared at our wedding. Honestly, this is why Alex was the first person I booked after we got engaged. Her photos are each simply a work of art, and I knew she would be able to capture the special moments that we will relive forever.
